Leadership When Every Minute Matters

In an increasingly complex and fast-moving world, effective leadership is often tested when the pressure is highest and the stakes are greatest. Drawing on decades of experience in emergency medicine, disaster response and search and rescue, Dr Jorian Kippax will share powerful lessons on leadership, teamwork and decision-making when every minute matters.

Named the 2026 Tasmanian Australian of the Year, Jorian is recognised for a career dedicated to helping others, including the internationally renowned 2024 Franklin River rescue that saw him and his team save the life of a trapped whitewater rafter in extraordinary circumstances.

Through extraordinary stories and practical insights, Jorian will demonstrate that great leadership is not about avoiding adversity, but about having the courage, clarity and confidence to act when it matters most.
